Walk for Support is free to join, and we're proud of that. If you'd like to make an even bigger impact, we encourage you to fundraise as part of your walk.
Every dollar raised through Walk for Support is donated to Back You—an independent, community-powered mental health fund that helps local people access the support they need when cost is a barrier.
Here are a few simple ways you can help:
Ask friends, family or colleagues to sponsor your walk. "I'm walking 40km for mental health. Will you sponsor me $1 per kilometre?"
Share your story on social media with a link to our Donations page.
Download our QR code to create a fundraising poster for your workplace or community noticeboard.
Every conversation, every kilometre and every donation helps make mental health support more accessible in our community.
You can learn more about Back You and the impact of your fundraising further down this page.

You will be mostly self sufficient on the day, but you won't be walking empty handed. There will be refill and nourish stations along the trail, that are lovingly run by local volunteers offering baked treats, water refills and encouragement!
Please remember bring:Plenty of water (refill at stations)
Snacks to keep you energised
Hat, sunglasses and sunscreen
Comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing
Headphones for those dance-walk moments
A backpack and other personal items
Hydration and nutrition tips:
Sip water every 20 minutes
Eat something small every 40–45 minutes (protein bars, trail mix, fruit, nut bars, sports gels, or Hydralyte)
Test any energy products beforehand to avoid surprises on the day
-
Restroom stops are available along the route (check the map for details), but be mindful that some sections have limited access.
In previous years, we’ve walked together as one big group—but this time, you’re encouraged to go at your own pace. We’ll all begin the journey together at Marino, but how you walk it is entirely up to you. Take breaks, move at your rhythm, and honour what your body and mind need.
-
It is up to Walkers to arrange their own transport between our starting points at Marino or McLaren Vale, and the end of our journey in Willunga.
There is a large car park at the old Willunga Train Station at the Trails’s end. -
While there may be First Aid-trained volunteers along the trail, Coast to Vines cannot accept liability for injuries.
In the event of an emergency, an ambulance will be called, and you will be responsible for any associated costs. Please assess your own health and readiness before registering- we want you to be safe, supported and steady throughout the day.
-
Due to safety regulations and Trail conditions, children and dogs are unable to participate in this event.
Your feedback on how we can safely incorporate a family feel for this movement is welcome! -

Walk for Support has created a community, relationships and a sense of belonging.
It’s given people a way of contributing to a cause that may be personal to them, either through direct experience or supporting someone they know.
We like to think that the Coast to Vines community is not only fundraising to support others, it’s also a way for us to support each other. We can learn so much about ourselves and each other by living the slogans.
Let’s Get Comfortable Talking About Mental Health.

Meet Back You
Every dollar raised through Walk for Support is donated to Back You and goes directly towards helping people in our community access mental health support.
Launching in October 2026, Back You is a community-powered mental health fund created right here on the Fleurieu. Its purpose is simple: to make mental health support more accessible by reducing the financial barriers that prevent people from getting the care they need.
Through community funding, Back You will help cover the cost of mental health services while connecting people with trusted local providers and resources. Built on transparency, compassion and the belief that communities are stronger when they support one another, Back You exists to ensure that when someone is ready to ask for help, cost doesn't stand in the way.
By taking part in Walk for Support, you're doing more than raising awareness - you are helping local people access real support when they need it most.
We are thrilled to be working along side this wonderful new Charity.
